The latest upgrade 3.1.4 address vulnerabilities at the Editor-level. A malicious editor to your site can gain further access to the admin area and literally take your website off line or deface your site. Website that are vulnerable are community sites, sites that take article submissions and sites that grant editorial privileges. Should you be worried if you don’t have this update? Well, if you take your business seriously then this is something important to you. The update also address minor security fixes and hardening(removal of unnecessary services) to reduce the vulnerability surface.

As WordPress plugs up the holes, the same team and community of users(not your ordinary bunch) looking to make WordPress evolve, keep on moving forward with 3.2 release candidate 3. This beta version has all the security fixes, RTL stuff, dumb JavaScript and some user interface stuff that has been tweak. Also, the beta version works on PHP 5.2.4 and MySQL 5.0.

So, if your web designer and/or developer is behind on the times, then fire him! WordPress and web design/development companies always need to be ahead of the curve. WordPress 3.2 Release Candidate 2

The team at WordPress are coming closer to releasing 3.2 with their release candidate 2. I have it running on a few site with a ton of plugins and so far it is working smoothly.

Performance improvements by using enhanced features in PHP 5.2.4 and MySQL 5.0 and cleaning up some back end codes and bugs.

One of my favorite part of this update is that WordPress will not support Internet Explorer 6 which is a relief to web designers.

As a web developer, speed is important to me and also to my clients. I use w3 Total Cache to further improve speed by caching my clients websites. I even go further by using APC cache and Memcache just like Facebook and Mashable to increase the speed. My bigger clients go even further with CDN(Content Delivery Network) that makes them fast around the world.

WordPress is not just a blogging platform, it is a full CMS solution for businesses around the globe.

Go to C:\Users\[your user name here]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Search for install.rdf(there is one for every add-on you have).

Open up the install.rdf with notepad and change maxVersion from 4.0.* to 6.0.*.

Restart Firefox or re-install Google Bar and it should appear again.

WordPress Version 3.1 "Reinhardt"

Most of my customers’ upgrades have gone smoothly except for the highly modified ones.
